SignBlanksUSA offers the following information as a guide. Since there are an array of different sign paints, vinyls, and inks, it is imperative that you contact the product manufacturer prior to application on your sign blank.
Our PVC sign blanks are made of high quality PVC (polyvinylchloride). PVC is a closed cellular plastic material. Because of this, PVC will not absorb water or provide a home for insects. Sign blanks made from PVC are an excellent alternative to using HDU or Wood for your sign. These other products definitely have their place in the sign industry. However, if your are looking for an easy to work substrate that you would like to paint, vinyl letter, or print on, then PVC sign blanks are the way to go. Our PVC sign blanks come ready to use. It is recommended that you first give them a quick clean with isopropyl alcohol. Just make sure that they are completely dry prior to any application.
If you have never worked with a PVC sign blank, then you should first perform a test to determine the compatibility of the process your are using.
PVC sign blanks can be mounted using screws or bolts. It is suggested that you use a slightly larger hole in the sign blank to allow for expansion and contraction.
As with any sign that will be out in extreme conditions, you may want to apply a UV protectant coating to the sign.
Again, this information is offered only as a guide. Please consult manufacturer of the ink or paint you are using to insure a trouble free application.
